Signage requirements
To issue legally enforceable Parking Charges, your site must display signage that clearly informs drivers of the parking terms and conditions. This is a legal requirement: without adequate signage, Parking Charges can be overturned on appeal.
What your signage must include
At a minimum, signage on a ReadyPark-managed site must display:
- The parking conditions (time limits, permitted users, payment requirements)
- The Parking Charge amount payable if terms are breached
- The name and contact details of the operator (ReadyPark on your behalf)
- The appeals process
- A statement that ANPR is in use on the site
Signage placement
Signs must be visible to drivers at the point of entry, before they commit to parking. For larger sites, additional signs throughout the car park are recommended. The general standard is that a driver should be able to read at least one sign from any parking space.
Compliant signs from ReadyPark
During onboarding, we'll assess your site and advise on the number and placement of signs needed. We can supply fully compliant, weatherproof signs as part of your setup; this is included in the installation fee. If your site already has signage, we'll review it and let you know if any updates are needed before going live.
Keeping signage up to date
If you change your parking terms (for example, updating prices or adding permit restrictions), your signage must be updated to reflect this before enforcement begins under the new rules. Contact us and we'll arrange replacement signs.
