Site pricing options

Each site on ReadyPark has its own independent pricing configuration. You can choose from three pricing models, set a free period, cap the daily charge, and control grace and enforcement windows.

Pricing models

Hourly

The driver is charged a continuous, pro-rated rate based on how long they park. For example, at £2.00/hr a 90-minute stay costs £3.00. The charge is calculated to the minute, not rounded to the nearest hour.

Flat rate

A single fixed fee applies once the free period is exceeded, regardless of how long the driver stays. Useful for sites where you want simple, predictable pricing, for example a flat £3.00 for any-length visit.

Tiered

Charges increase in steps as the stay gets longer. Each tier sets a cumulative total price up to a certain duration, not an additional increment. For example:

  • Up to 30 min beyond free period: £1.50
  • Up to 1 hr: £3.00
  • Up to 2 hrs: £4.50
  • Up to 3 hrs: £6.00

If a driver stays beyond all defined tiers, the last tier's price acts as a ceiling (unless a daily max is also set). Tiered pricing works well for hospitality or retail sites where short stays are common but you want to capture revenue from longer ones too.

Free period

You can set a number of free minutes at the start of every visit. No charge is calculated for that initial window: the pricing clock only starts after the free period ends. For example, a 30-minute free period means drivers pay only for time beyond the first half hour.

Daily maximum cap

An optional cap on the total charge per visit. If set, the charge will never exceed this amount regardless of how long the driver stays. This is applied after the base charge is calculated. Set it to zero to disable the cap.

Grace and enforcement windows

Two separate windows control how the platform treats unpaid vehicles:

  • Grace period: A short window after the free period ends during which a driver on an open site can still pay without being flagged as unpaid. Useful to avoid flagging drivers who are in the process of paying.
  • Max stay: If a vehicle remains on site unpaid beyond this limit, its status escalates to overstay, which can trigger a Parking Charge.

Open sites vs barrier sites

Sites are either open (no physical barrier) or barrier (drivers must pay before the exit barrier opens).

  • Open sites support a post-exit payment window: drivers who leave without paying can still settle up within a configurable number of hours after departure.
  • Barrier sites require payment before exit. Post-exit payment is not available, and payment must be made at the kiosk while the vehicle is still on site.

Top-up payments

On open sites, a driver who has already paid but then stays beyond their exit window can make a further payment for the additional time. The platform calculates the full cost of the session from entry to the current time, subtracts what has already been paid, and presents only the balance due. This can happen more than once in a single visit if the driver keeps extending their stay.

Vehicle statuses

The live view shows a status for every vehicle on site:

  • Authorised: Plate is on the site whitelist (permit holder or approved vehicle)
  • Free: Within the free period, no charge due yet
  • Grace: Free period has ended but still within the grace window (open sites)
  • Unpaid: Past the grace period with no payment made
  • Overstay: Unpaid and exceeding the maximum permitted stay, Parking Charge eligible
  • Paid: Payment made and still within the exit grace window
  • Overdue: Previously paid but exit window has now closed and new unpaid time has accumulated
